ourdes Bernal-Dixon was born in Madrid, Spain.  Ms. Bernal-Dixon obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a minor in Psychology in 1996 from Florida International University. In 2000, she earned her Juris Doctor degree from Florida State University College of Law where she served as the law school’s Student Bar Association President and was a member and officer of the competitive FSU College of Law Mock Trial Team.  While in law school, Ms. Bernal-Dixon was inducted into Phi Delta Phi Legal Honor Society and was awarded the FSU College of Law Dean’s Outstanding Service Award.

Ms. Bernal-Dixon was admitted to The Florida Bar in 2000 and to the United States District Courts, Middle District of Florida, Northern District of Florida and Southern District of Florida in 2001.

Ms. Bernal-Dixon focuses her practice on litigation as well as grievances or complaints before licensing boards. She has handled matters ranging from consumer disputes to complex medical malpractice matters in both state and Federal courts.  In addition, Ms. Bernal-Dixon handles grievances before The Florida Bar and bar applicants before the Florida Board of Bar Examiners.

Ms. Bernal-Dixon serves on the Board of Director of the Tampa Bay Hispanic Bar Association.  She is an active member of the board of the Florida State University College of Law Alumni Association.  In addition, Ms. Bernal-Dixon provides pro bono services to pro se litigants in Hillsborough County through the Bay Area Legal Services Family Forms Clinic in Spanish.  Ms. Bernal- Dixon is fluent in Spanish.

Ms. Bernal-Dixon has been repeatedly recognized as a Rising Star by Florida Super Lawyers and in 2009, she was selected by Florida Trend as a Florida Legal Elite Up and Comer as recognized by her peers.
