JORGE L. CRUZ, prior to starting his law career, practiced as a professional engineer, and has more than ten years of experience in all other areas of construction, with expertise in the design of electrical, mechanical, plumbing and fire protection systems; he has been involved in large projects throughout Miami-Dade County, including the Miami International Airport, Jackson Memorial Hospital, Baptist Hospital, South Miami Hospital, and the Port of Miami. In addition, he has spoken concerning various legal issues to different design professional organizations.

Mr. Cruz received his Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Florida International University and his Juris Doctor from the University of Miami.

He is admitted to the Florida Bar and U.S. District Court, Southern District of Florida; further, he is a Florida Professional Engineer and Certified General Contractor, and is also a member of the Dade County Bar Association, Cuban American Bar Association, Florida Board of Professional Engineers, and Florida Engineering Society.

Mr. Cruz practices in the areas of construction litigation and design professional liability defense.
