effrey A. Albinson was raised in Hopatcong, New Jersey. Mr. Albinson earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Flagler College and a Juris Doctorate from Stetson University College of Law in 1985.  After law school, he served as an Assistant State Attorney in the sixth Judicial Circuit of Florida, rising to the level of Lead Trial Attorney and serving on the Pinellas County Arson Task Force.

Mr. Albinson was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1985.  He was admitted to the United States District Court, Middle District of Florida in 1988, the United States Court of Appeals, Eleventh Circuit in 1989 and the United States Supreme Court in 2004.

Mr. Albinson has over 25 years of trial experience and he has tried over 100 cases to verdict in such varied genres of law as first degree murder, commercial litigation, employment law, professional liability and guardianship. Mr. Albinson’s practice is focused in the areas of Professional Liability Defense, Complex Litigation, Commercial Litigation, Directors and Officers Defense, Insurance Coverage matters, and complex litigation of all types. He has utilized his knowledge of litigation based issues to also develop a consultative practice focused on managing and controlling the risk inherent to professional practices and other commercial enterprises.

Mr. Albinson is a frequent lecturer and published author in the areas of practice and risk management for lawyers and other professions.  He has published well over 50 articles on professional liability, legal malpractice, ethics and other similar topics.

Mr. Albinson has served as the Vice Chair of the Florida Statewide Nominating Committee for Judges of Compensation Claims, the President of the Clearwater Bar Association, Chair of Professionalism Committee Hillsborough County Bar Association and has been a member of the Florida Bar and the St. Petersburg Bar Association.  He serves as the National Co-Chair of the Professional Liability Committee for the Council on Litigation Management (CLM), and is the author of four Professional Liability Live Standards Training Courses for CLM.

Mr. Albinson has been recognized as a Florida Super Lawyer, Lawdragon 500, Lawdragon Top 3000 Lawyers in America and was recently named to Tampa Bay Magazine’s Top Lawyers for 2010.  He is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell.
