Alvin D. Lodish has broad experience in complex commercial and civil litigation, including the representation of major corporate plaintiffs and defendants in large-scale class action lawsuits. Mr. Lodish has achieved precedent-setting legal decisions regarding class actions filed in federal courts, the application of zoning laws in the state of Florida, and federal leasehold condemnation cases.
Throughout his career, Mr. Lodish has handled numerous complex commercial cases through trial, arbitration, mediation and appeal before both state and federal trial and appellate courts. Most recently, Mr. Lodish represented the Fontainebleau Hotel resolving over 65 complex contractor lawsuits to help restructure $850 million of debt to avoid bankruptcy.
In his practice, Mr. Lodish represents corporations, partnerships and other entities in all types of contract and corporate governance disputes. He represents builders and developers in construction and real property disputes, and represents clients against foreign governments in commercial cases. His clients include numerous national and international companies such as the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association, Lennar Corporation, Merck & Co, and the Fontainebleau Hotel.
Early in his career, Mr. .Lodish served as a senior trial attorney with the Office of International Affairs, U.S. Department of Justice in Washington D.C. where he represented foreign governments before U.S. courts, managed U.S. cases abroad and assisted in the negotiation of treaties on behalf of the United States.
Mr. Lodish is dedicated to giving back to the community. He has contributed his legal skills through pro bono service to the guardian ad litem and the "Put Something Back" programs, advising high school students on legal careers. He is an active member of the Board of the ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) Recovery Fund, and the Board of Managers for the YMCA.
