Stephen W. Stukey was born in Panama City, Florida, and grew up in the rural panhandle community of Chipley, Florida. He obtained an Associate of Arts Degree at Gulf Coast Community College, before obtaining his Bachelors of Design in Architecture from the University of Florida in 1998. Upon graduation he was employed with a national architectural firm, where he assisted in the design development and construction administration of retail and institutional projects until his acceptance into Rutgers School of Law- Newark law in 2001. At Rutgers, he became a member of the Rutgers Law Record, and for his final year, he studied as a visiting student at the University of Miami where he received special honors for his scholastic achievements in International Law. Mr. Stukey’s areas of practice include review of Owner/Architect agreements for project design and/or construction administration, the defense of design professionals from claims of failure to comply with the accepted standard of care, violations of building codes, and design defects; defense of insurance agents/brokers from claims of failure to procure coverage, procurement of inadequate/improper coverage, and negligent misrepresentation of coverage; and defense of individuals from claims of breach of construction agreements. Mr. Stukey has successfully represented a number of well-known architectural and engineering firms, as well as several insurance agents and brokers in the tri-county area.
