Daniels Kashtan Promotes Nancy Stoner to Partner; Hires Alexis Cooper as Associate

CORAL GABLES, FL (5/17/2011) – Daniels Kashtan Downs Robertson & McGirney P.A. announced today that Nancy Stoner has been promoted to Partner and Alexis Cooper has been hired as an Associate.

“It gives us great pleasure to recognize Nancy’s achievements with the firm, and to welcome Alexis, whose future with us is very bright,” said Michael Kashtan, Managing Partner. “Both women add immeasurably to the continued expansion of services the firm now offers.”

Stoner’s practice areas include construction law and real estate.  She represents owners, developers, contractors and design professionals in construction defect matters.  Her real estate practice focuses on development, including drafting of condominium documents, and on real estate transactions, both residential and commercial.  Stoner, who served as an Assistant State Attorney in Miami-Dade County under Janet Reno, is a Florida Supreme Court Certified Mediator and an alternate Special Magistrate for the Village of Key Biscayne. She is also a member of the National Association of Women in Construction.

Cooper, admitted to the Florida Bar in 2011, has joined the firm’s growing Business Litigation Practice Group. She attended the University of Florida, graduating summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts dual degree in Linguistics and Communications Sciences & Disorders, with a minor in Gerontology.  She continued at the University of Florida's Levin College of Law, earning her Juris Doctor.   

While in law school, Cooper completed two externships within the Middle District of Florida.  In 2008, she served with Senior U.S. District Judge Susan Bucklew, and in 2009, served with U.S. Magistrate Judge Gary Jones.  That same year Cooper clerked for national renewable energy producer and commodities trader FPL Group, in Juno Beach.  During her final year of law school, she participated in the London Law Consortium through the University of Iowa.
