The Firm
The core of this group's practice involves representing design professionals, particularly architects and engineers in design, defect and insurance related litigation. The group of 23 lawyers are "engaging, intelligent and diligent" and as such, this firm is often a popular place for referrals from peers. A smaller element to the practice is its work for contractors and owners and also the preparation of complex construction documents.

Joe Downs has a superb understanding of the problems facing the design profession as illustrated by the "innovative thought process" he applies to all his cases. He advised a major architectural firm on a $500 million project involving the high-rise, beach-front Diplomat Hotel in Halandale.
Michael Kashtan is a "tough, highly ethical and undeniably fair attorney." A commercial litigator, he works principally on matters involving construction and insurance coverage litigation and has recently represented a design team in claims arising from a performing arts center project in downtown Miami.
